Job Summary/Basic Function
To provide leadership, instruction, advising, service, and scholarship in the area of counselor education, with a special emphasis in guidance counseling.
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctorate from a CACREP Counselor Education and Supervision program by June 1, 2026.
- Training must include the area of school counseling.
- Candidates must be licensable as an Ohio School Counselor within one year of appointment.
- Applicants must also provide evidence of effective teaching in counseling or a closely related discipline and articulate a clear research agenda.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years experience working as a licensed School counselor.
- One or more years experience providing supervision to school counseling students/interns.
- Preferences will be given to applicants who have a record of research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals, documented successful experience instructing and advising in a CACREP accredited school counseling program.
- Applicants having the PCC-S would be desirable
Essential Functions and percent of time
- 35% - Provide instruction, supervise and advise master's level counseling students
- 25% - Provide service to the department, university and counseling profession
- 30% - Be actively involved in the scholarly publication of research
- 10% - Assist with program development, assessment, student recruitment, and accreditation activities
