Assistant Professor - Strength & Conditioning
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to conduct and publish original research and the potential to secure extramural funding to support their research agenda. The ideal candidate must also demonstrate the potential to provide excellent instruction across the BS and MS Strength and Conditioning curricula, as well as other areas in the undergraduate Exercise Science or MS in Kinesiology programs, as assigned.
Minimum Experience / Education:
UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
- A doctoral degree in Kinesiology, Strength & Conditioning, Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Rehabilitation Sciences, or related discipline.
- A focused agenda for independent research in strength & conditioning, human performance, sports analytics, biomechanics, or a related discipline, with an excellent potential to obtain extramural research support.
- Research focus that contributes to and/or expands upon the current research interests of the department.
- Experience in teaching at the university level and a commitment to relating Kinesiology programs to workforce development are required.
- Experience in laboratory-based and applied instruction in strength and conditioning or human performance, with additional background in tactical, team sport, personal training, or private sector settings
- A record of professional leadership and service in organizations such as the NSCA or ACSM.
