Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The Carbon Recycling and Energy Processes Research Unit aims to contribute to the early realization of carbon neutrality through the development of high-efficiency carbon capture processes for ambient air and flue gases, as well as technologies for carbon recycling. Applicants should have an academic background in thermal fluid engineering, energy engineering, process engineering, separation engineering, or a related field aligned with the Unit’s mission.

Work content and job description
Research: The successful candidate will serve as a young principal investigator and is expected to play a central role in promoting interdisciplinary research on carbon recycling and/or efficient energy utilization within the Unit.

1) School of Mechanical Engineering, College of Science and Engineering, Kanazawa University
2) Division of Transdisciplinary Sciences (Master’s Program), Graduate School of Frontier Science Initiative, Kanazawa University
3) Division of Mechanical Science and Engineering (Master’s Program), Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology, Kanazawa University
Subject responsible for:
During the tenure-track period, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching one or two assigned courses or laboratory/experimental classes drawn from general education subjects and specialized subjects in mechanical engineering (such as design and drafting, or laboratory exercises). The candidate may also be assigned to teach courses in English.

Annual salary: 4 million yen - 6 million yen
Wages description: Annual salary system is applied.

Contract period: Nontenured-Tenure-track
Contract period description: Assistant Professor: Full time, non-tenured (In principle 5 years).
Based on the result of intramural examination on academic achievement in research and education, she may have opportunity for the promotion to tenure associate professorship or the appointment of tenure assistant professor, after the expiration of one’s term of office.
If an extension of the tenure-track period (up to a maximum of three years) is approved as part of the tenure review, a subsequent evaluation will be conducted in the final year of the extended period.
Outline for the standard in making decision on the approval of academic tenure.
(1) Research achievement in the concerned field is outstanding in both domestic and international research communities.
(2) Appropriately planned research is sufficiently achieved.
(3) Sufficient competitive research funding is obtained.
(4) Educational achievement for students (research guidance and lecture) is outstanding.
