Description: Assists the Treasurer with management of the University's financial resources. Establishes the daily cash position the University of Houston System and its component campuses. Maintains the financial integrity of UHS through interaction with financial institutions. Directs the operations of the Office of Student Financial Services.

Description: Assists the Treasurer with management of the University's financial resources. Establishes the daily cash position the University of Houston System and its component campuses. Maintains the financial integrity of UHS through interaction with financial institutions. Directs the operations of the Office of Student Financial Services.
- Interacts with banking officers, external investment and finance professionals, bond counsel, and university personnel to determine UHS's daily liquidity needs, transfers funds to meet cash flow and investment requirements, and resolves problems.
- Safeguards and deposits all monies collected throughout the university; collects all institutional and federal loan debts; ensures that the office is in compliance with all federal and state statutes and university policies.
- Ensures the billing and collection process is within PCI compliance and is accurate and timely. Designs, tests and implements fee structures.
- Develops and recommends initiatives to improve operations, enhance services, reduce costs and increase productivity.
- Manages the daily treasury operations including the supervision of staff and management of budget; assumes responsibility of the Bursar and Risk Management operations in the absence of the Treasurer.
- Prepares various agenda materials and reports for internal and external constituents, such as senior management, Board of Regents, Internal Auditing, Legislative Budget Board, Securities and Exchange Commission, financial advisory firms and bond investors.
- Prepares monthly debt schedules as well as assisting the Treasurer with new bond issues.
- Develops and revises university policies and procedures and monitors and resolves issues presented through internal audit findings.
- Collects and analyzes data from various UHS constituents, and prepares documentation required for the issuance of bonds.
- Analyzes capital projects and investment opportunities for UHS and makes recommendations for alternative strategies.
- Represents Treasurer's Office on various university committees.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.
