Job Description:

The College of Health Professions-School of Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences at Bellarmine University invites applications from qualified candidates for two 12-month faculty positions, term or tenure-track eligible, at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level. These new positions will join a department of 14 dynamic core faculty, a diverse team of experienced adjunct clinical faculty, and highly supportive and dedicated administrative staff. Successful candidates will support the University's vision and mission, commitment to service and hospitality, and the intellectual, ethical and moral development of all students. Academic rank and faculty appointment are commensurate with qualifications and expertise.

Requirements:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Terminal academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, DHSc, DSc) from an accredited institution or terminal academic degree is in progress with expected graduation within one year, and/or DPT with ABPTS certification.
  • If a physical therapist: Licensure in a United States jurisdiction as a physical therapist and eligible for licensure in Kentucky.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Evidence of peer-reviewed scholarship, at a minimum, invited presentations such as poster or platform at professional conferences. Publications in peer-reviewed journals, authorship of books or chapters, and grant activity will be considered as higher forms of peer-reviewed scholarship.
  • Experience mentoring students in research, either formally or informally.
  • Experience teaching in an academic environment, at a minimum as adjunct faculty. Higher consideration may be given to those with previous full-time faculty experience.
  • Strong background in contemporary practice and teaching experience in: pediatrics, primary care, cardiovascular and pulmonary, acute/critical care, biophysical agents, oncology, or research
  • Preferred ABPTS board specializations include: Clinical Electrophysiology, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Pulmonary, Pediatrics, Sports, Wound Management

For the Associate Director of Clinical Education specifically:

  • Strong experience as a Clinical Instructor (CI) and/or Site Coordinator of Clinical Education (SCCE)
  • Prior experience coordinating clinical education placements
  • Familiarity with clinical performance assessment tools and student evaluation methods in clinical education
