Job Summary:
The 4-H Associate Program Educator is a 42% FTE position (about 16-17 hours per week) working in and throughout Racine County.
The Associate 4-H Program Educator will assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating 4-H events and activities in Racine County. They will assist in building an awareness of 4-H outreach programs through marketing to new audiences and providing positive youth development experiences to attract new and retain current participants in 4-H programs. The position will work closely with the Racine County 4-H Program Educator. The Associate Educator will help deliver programming through 4-H events, camps, community events, afterschool programs, and other settings. The individual in this position will be essential in developing and sustaining community partnerships that support programming.
County Location
The main office for this position is located in Burlington, WI and the primary programming focus is Racine County; however, some programming may also be conducted over a broader geographical area.
Terminal Position
The initial period of employment will be one year, with the possibility to be extended for an additional year contingent upon program needs and available funding.
In Person
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Evening/Weekend Work
This position may be required to work occasional nights and weekends to meet the program needs and priorities of the communities served.
Travel Expectations
It is expected that employees will make individual arrangements for transportation adequate to meet position responsibilities and essential job functions. Read more about UW-Madison Driver Authorization.
Applicants are required to: Have a valid drivers license and a reliable source of independent transportation for periodic in-state work travel, and/or comply with requirements for UW-Madison vehicle use authorization.

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Helps design marketing materials and promotions for programs
- Teaches culturally relevant educational programs to adults and youth using learner-centered activities and lessons
- Tracks program evaluation and incorporates feedback for improvement
- Helps build and sustain relationships with community partners
- Procures and maintains course materials and supplies
- Communicates plans, activities, and achievements to 4-H Program Educator, Area Extension Director, Program Managers, partners, and relevant stakeholders
- Implements initiatives and events that serve the target audience

The Extension Institute of Positive Youth Development prepares the youth of today to become the effective, empathic adults of tomorrow. Our research-based youth enrichment programs like teens in governance build youth and adult capacity and partnerships that help both sides grow. 4-H clubs, camps and afterschool programs give young people the hands-on experiences they need to develop an understanding of themselves and the world.
Compensation:
The minimum annual (12 months) starting salary for the position is $46,363 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications
Pro-rated Salary
This is a part-time position, which means actual salary earned will be prorated based on FTE (full-time status). At 42% FTE, the person hired can expect to receive 42% of the advertised salary. Please note that some benefits such as paid time off will be prorated by appointment percentage.

- Volunteer or work experience related to delivering educational programs with Latinx communities or other minority groups
- Experience managing multiple tasks, timelines, and schedules while maintaining high quality work
- Ability to work cooperatively with other agencies and commuity-based organizations
