About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director, Commercialisation Health & Medtech.

As part of this exciting transformation, we’re seeking an Associate Director, Commercialisation Health & Medtech to drive high impact commercial opportunities that harness Swinburne’s research strengths, industry collaborations and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Reporting to the Director, Commercial Innovation, this role leads the full lifecycle of commercialisation projects - from opportunity creation and IP development through to venture formation and portfolio management. You’ll work closely with inventors, founders and external experts to shape market ready ventures, secure funding and build strong partnerships with industry and investors. With a focus on advancing innovation across technological, commercial and investment dimensions, this role is central to building a thriving pipeline of spinouts and licensees while contributing to Swinburne’s rapidly evolving innovation precinct.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated experience in business engagement and relationship development credentials, with deep appreciation of the realities of setting-up and growing commercial businesses.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver strategic intellectual property and research capability commercialisation initiatives through own actions.
- Demonstrated experience to lead new venture transactions, including team leadership.
- Strong track record of delivering innovation and entrepreneurship programs for business, including strong project management skills.
- Leading by influence: proven ability to be persuasive with a diverse range of stakeholders, including strong verbal and written communication skills and exemplary negotiation skills.

- Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience.
- Proven expertise in the management of significant human and material resources.
