Associate Director, MIT Climate Policy Center

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, MIT Climate Policy Center, Sloan School of Management, will lead efforts to elevate and strategically shape climate policy–relevant research across MIT, identifying new opportunities aligned with policymaker needs. Reporting to the Executive Director, the position helps execute the MIT Climate Policy Center’s mission and strategy. Responsibilities include directing proactive and responsive policy engagement, ensuring effective external communications, and overseeing the creation of reports, briefs, and other knowledge products. The Director will work closely with research, communications, and program teams, as well as affiliated faculty, to coordinate activities, enhance visibility of policy-relevant work, and ensure timely, high-quality outputs that advance the Center’s policy impact.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study; a minimum of five years of relevant experience, including program/project management, policy development, and/or policy advisory experience; excellent project management skills and an established record of managing and prioritizing multiple time-sensitive demands; strong writing and analytical capabilities; mature understanding of legislative and regulatory processes, including topical jurisdiction and policy ecosystems; and demonstrated excellence at cultivating relationships within an organization and with external constituencies, including Capitol Hill, federal agencies, state legislatures, and executive branches, NGOs, think tanks, and other relevant policy stakeholders.
PREFERRED: Master’s or Doctoral degree in natural sciences, social sciences, economics, or engineering; and significant demonstrated experience with federal and/or state-level government relations and/or policy communications. Local and international policy experience.
