Department of Communication
The Department of Communication is the largest department in COLFA, with almost 1,000 students and 25 full-time faculty. At the undergraduate level, we specialize in Communication Studies with concentrations in Public Relations and Health Communication. Courses also cover Interpersonal / Small Group Communication, and Organizational Communication. Additionally, we offer a degree in Journalism and a “first-in-the-nation” degree in Digital Media Influence. At the graduate level, we offer an M.A. in Communication and are developing a Ph.D. program with a planned start in the Fall of 2027.
Salary Range: $53,550, 4 courses per semester.

Position Summary
UT San Antonio's Department of Communication seeks a Fixed-Term Track (non-tenure) Associate Professor of Instruction to teach courses in dialogue and deliberation, group communication, argumentation, negotiation, organization communication, and public speaking.
Qualifications
- Must hold a terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D.) in Communication or a closely related field.
- Have several years of teaching experience in Higher Education.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
