SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Dean of Academic Operations for SPSI
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Full-time and Adjunct Faculty in the Aviation programs
POSITION SUMMARY: Twelve-month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant / Associate Professor of Practice to serve as the Program Director for the developing Aviation Management and Professional Pilot programs. The Program Director will take the lead in designing the curriculum, courses, and overall structure of the Aviation programs in consultation with the Dean of Academic Operations and the Associate Provost and Dean, School of Professional Studies and Innovation. The new Aviation programs at Moravian University will be offered as hybrid programs including on-line synchronous, on-line asynchronous, and in-person experiences.
Preferred start date is on or before May 2026 (a later start date may be negotiable)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Director Responsibilities:
- Develop, direct, and oversee the Aviation Management, Professional Pilot and other Aviation related programs, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
- Lead program design, development, implementation, assessment, and administration.
- Collaborate with the administrators in the School of Professional Studies and Innovation to promote interdisciplinary initiatives and shared resources.
- Ensure program effectiveness through continuous curriculum assessment, faculty development, and student engagement strategies.
Faculty Responsibilities:
- Develop and teach courses within the Aviation management, professional pilot and / or other aviation programs and, as applicable, across the School of Professional Studies and Innovation
- Utilize expertise in online learning platforms, hybrid learning models, and andragogical strategies for adult learners.
- Participate in scholarly activities, mentorship, and service to the university and profession.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters degree in Aviation or related field
- Licensed pilot
- Demonstrated engagement, service, and leadership in the field of Aviation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctorate degree in Aviation or related field
- Previous teaching at the post-secondary level
- Evidence of successful on-line or hybrid teaching experience with adult learners at the University level
- Evidence of curriculum development
