Belmont Online Course Facilitator - Master of Arts in Media and Entertainment Industries
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Position purpose: Online course facilitators instruct students in Belmont Online programs. Facilitators engage with students through course updates, office hours, and assessments. Facilitators may be assigned up to three courses per semester.
Essential Functions:
- Update existing, adopted course syllabus with timeline of classes, schedule for assessments, and contact information for students each semester.
- Provide instruction to students. Facilitate group discussions related to course content. Engage in other substantive interactions connected to the academic materials.
- Assess and give feedback on student work within seven (7) days after the due date. Manage online grading system and submit grades by the due date defined by the Office of the Registrar.
- Offer regularly scheduled virtual office hours throughout the course and proactively communicate with students via Canvas Inbox or Outlook. Response to student inquiries is expected within 24-48 hours.

- Demonstrated ability to instruct, manage, motivate and evaluate students. Skilled in the use of computers, Internet resources, and Canvas LMS.
- Ability to learn relevant sections of BannerWeb, Belmont University’s online integrated database system for student grading.
- Ability to successfully interact with students, other educators and educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of the programs and services offered by Belmont University.
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
Required Education: Master's required, Doctoral preferred
Required Experience: 1-3 years experience in field required, 4-6 years preferred
