Position Summary Information

Key Responsibilities Join Juniata College’s nationally recognized Science In Motion (SIM) program as a Full-time Biology Outreach Coordinator and help bring hands-on, high-impact science education to local school districts. This position is a 10-month appointment with benefits and salary for the full 12 months. The Outreach Coordinator plays a vital role in sustaining and expanding SIM’s biology-focused outreach efforts. This full-time position is essential to maintaining our existing partnerships and fulfilling contractual commitments to participating schools. Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and implement current outreach program initiatives
• Lead, organize, and sometimes teach all outreach projects (i.e., camps, workshops)
• Travel to participating schools to instruct, demonstrate, or assist in laboratory lessons for the Science in Motion (SIM) Program
• Coordinate with local SIM science teachers to schedule visits, instruct labs and track outreach equipment usage
• Hire, train and supervise student employees to prepare SIM equipment and lab materials for use in classroom and oversee quality control

• A clear understanding of Juniata College’s vision, strategic plan, and mission
• A Baccalaureate degree in Science, Education, or other suitable discipline
• Good writing skills
• Valid driver’s license required, clear of major violations...

Supervision Required/Given This role reports directly to the Outreach Director and works collaboratively with other STEM coordinators on campus. Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in educational outreach or similar programs
• Pennsylvania teaching certification
• Additional responsibilities may include... teaching college outreach-related classes as needed...
