Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Biology department on the Gainesville campus. Biology Teaching Assistants will support learning in biology labs by engaging with peer learners about the lab activities and concepts covered within the labs. Additionally, Biology Teaching Assistants will develop and lead active learning sessions for peers about course content.

Responsibilities

• Engage in weekly training about pedagogy and course content
• Attending designated labs and engaging with peers about the lab activities and concepts
• Developing and leading designated active learning sessions for peers about course content

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Showing competency in the course for which they will be assisting ("A" or "B" grade in the course) and being recommended by their professor
• Showing a desire for continued learning and engaging with new approaches to learning
• Comfortable engaging with their peers about course content and learning

Required Qualifications

Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
