Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Performing Arts department on the Gainesville campus. The Theatre Recruitment Assistant supports the department's outreach and recruitment efforts by engaging with prospective students and promoting the program. Responsibilities include assisting in leading workshops at local schools, assisting with community events, and serving as a representative of the theatre department. The position also involves communicating with prospective students, scheduling auditions, and helping coordinate audition events.
Responsibilities
- Lead outreach efforts by visiting schools, facilitating engaging theatre workshops, and representing the department to prospective students.
- Communicate with prospective students through follow-up emails and calls to provide information and encourage application and audition participation.
- Coordinate and schedule in-person auditions, while assisting with the planning and execution of audition events.
- Support department visibility by participating in community events and recruitment initiatives that promote the theatre program.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with prospective students, educators, and community members.
- Knowledge of theatre practices and a genuine enthusiasm for theatre education.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail for scheduling, follow-up communication, and event coordination.
- Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to represent the department positively in both educational and public settings.
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
