Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant, UNG Food Pantry on the Gainesville Campus. The Graduate Assistant (GA) at the University of North Georgia's Food Pantry will play a key role in supporting the operations and initiatives of the UNG Food Pantries. Under the supervision of the Director of Financial Well-Being, the GA will assist in coordinating programs, managing day-to-day operations, and enhancing the Pantry's capacity to serve the university community. This position will also assist in collecting and preparing data for presentation to both internal and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Operational Support: Assist with daily operations of the Food Pantry, including stocking, organizing, and distributing food items. Ensure inventory is maintained, monitored, and replenished as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the Food Pantry space.
- Client and Volunteer Management: Provide excellent customer service to students, staff and faculty members utilizing the Food Pantry. Coordinate volunteer and student worker schedules, ensuring that shifts are filled and volunteers are trained. Work closely with volunteers to ensure efficient and respectful distribution of food items.
- Community Outreach: Engage with the university community to raise awareness about the services provided by the Food Pantry.
- Reporting and Administrative Tasks: Maintain records of pantry usage and compile reports for Georgia Mountain Food Bank. Attend regular meetings
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and comfortable with basic data management.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
- Must be a currently enrolled graduate student at the University of North Georgia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in community service, volunteer management, or food security is a plus.
