The role
We’re seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to join our Strategy, Planning and Performance (SPP) team on a 6-month contract. This role will support the delivery of a key data project while also contributing to the day-to-day operation of our BI environment.
You’ll work at the intersection of data, technology and stakeholders - helping translate complex data into meaningful insights that inform decision-making across the University.
What you’ll do:
- Develop, maintain and enhance BI solutions using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
- Collect, transform and analyse data to support reporting and decision-making
- Work closely with technical and analytical teams to deliver robust, user-friendly insights
- Support the delivery of data projects, ensuring high-quality and accessible data outputs
- Contribute to user training, documentation and the uplift of self-service BI capability
- Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions
- Support BAU reporting and analytics activities within the SPP team
This fixed term position is full time for 6 months at a HEW6 Higher Education Worker level and is based at Callaghan
About you
- Experience in Business Intelligence development, ideally with Power BI
- Exposure to (or strong interest in learning) Microsoft Fabric or similar modern data platforms
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain data insights to non-technical audiences
- Proven stakeholder engagement skills and a collaborative approach to delivery
- Ability to manage competing priorities across both project and operational work
