This position is a key member of the Office of the Enterprise Triad of Michigan Medicine and reports directly to the Chief Physician Executive (CPE).
The primary purpose of this position is to enable the achievement of the vision, mission, and values of Michigan Medicine by advancing systemwide clinical, operational, and cultural priorities across the enterprise. This includes supporting the CPE and Triad partners in the development and execution of enterprise strategies, clinical transformation initiatives, and integrated change management efforts within Michigan Medicine’s highly complex, matrixed, and dynamic environment.
The individual in this role will contribute to all aspects of the Chief Physician Executive’s leadership portfolio and must demonstrate sound judgment, discretion, and independence while collaborating with clinical, operational, academic, and administrative partners across the health system.
The position also entails working directly with the guidance of our Chief Nurse and Operations Executive for the Academic Medical Center as well as our Chief Integration & Support Services Officer for Michigan Medicine on specific projects, reflecting our matrix approach.
- Provide high-level administrative coordination, facilitation, and oversight of strategic initiatives sponsored by the Chief Physician Executive and supported by the Enterprise Triad.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with leaders across hospitals and health centers, the Medical School, nursing, faculty group practice, shared services, and physician leadership groups to advance CPE- and Triad-led initiatives.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the Chief Physician Executive regarding organizational alignment, communication strategies, clinical integration, and enterprise-wide change management.
- Prepare, analyze, and synthesize proposals and recommendations on complex clinical and operational initiatives; develop associated action plans and coordinate implementation.
- Support the CPE in planning and implementing short- and long-term strategies, policies, procedures, programs, and enterprise priorities that strengthen clinical performance and integration.
- Manage clinical, operational, or strategic programs and projects that enhance enterprise performance; participate in the design, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives supporting systemwide goals.
- Synthesize large amounts of clinical, operational, and strategic data into succinct communications that support executive decision-making and inform diverse audiences.
- Collaborate with partners to assess and recommend fiscal, human, and material resources required for programs and projects.
- Maintain a deep understanding of enterprise clinical and operational priorities to anticipate needs, manage emerging issues, and identify opportunities for alignment or improvement.
- Coordinate, review, and summarize literature, reports, benchmarking analyses, environmental scans, and briefing materials as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Chief Physician Executive and Enterprise Triad leadership.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in health services administration, healthcare, business administration, public health, nursing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, with demonstrated knowledge of clinical work, clinical operations, and clinical workflows.
- Outstanding oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively with administrative leaders, clinicians, faculty, staff, interprofessional teams, and system partners.
- Demonstrated leadership in project management, continuous improvement, and implementation of organizational change.
- Proven ability to work successfully with interdisciplinary teams and represent the mission, values, and priorities of Michigan Medicine.

- Strategic and systems-based thinking, with the ability to apply these competencies across a complex health system.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to develop solutions, prioritize work, manage deadlines, and navigate ambiguity in a layered matrixed environment.

- High degree of creativity, initiative, resourcefulness, and adaptability.
