Business Services Professional (Open Rank: Entry-Senior)
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Finance and Administration (DFA), the Business Services Professional is responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field. Work may be performed fully independently. We are seeking an individual who is collaborative, communicative, detail-oriented, organized, proactive, able to think critically, focused on quality, dedicated to personal growth, and highly motivated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and manages schedules, collaborating closely with the Department Chair, the DFA, Department Faculty, and subject matter experts (SME) on complex issues.
- Serves as the initial administrative contact for the Department of Neurology, using diplomacy and public relations skills to appropriately refer questions to the Department Chair, DFA, and Business Services Program Directors, Staff, Faculty and Research Services.
- Coordinates, prioritizes meetings, and manages and updates Department Chair's schedule.
- Maintains the Department Chair's files (paper and electronic).
- Manages annual faculty evaluation scheduling and coordination.
- Assists with the Department Chair's involvement of faculty promotions, by ensuring all required recommendation paperwork is received and meets all University/Department requirements.

Work Location:
Hybrid - This role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings in Aurora, CO.

Minimum Qualifications:

Entry Professional
- Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
- Substitution: An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis if the degree is in a field of study directly related to the work assignment.
Intermediate Professional
- Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
- Substitution: An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis if the degree is in a field of study directly related to the work assignment.
- One (1) year of professional experience in administrative or office management role.
Senior Professional
- Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
- Substitution: An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis if the degree is in a field of study directly related to the work assignment.
- Two (2) years of professional experience in an administrative or office management role
- Three (3) years of experience working in an academic medical office environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience coordinating meetings including providing concise written documentation.
- Event planning experience.
- Experience working in academic medical environment and/or institution of higher education.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Experience creating and maintaining electronic databases.
- Four (4) years of working in an academic medical office environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Commitment to practice robust skills of confidentiality and discretion.
- Superior attention to detail, computer sophistication, and the ability to manipulate web-based report systems.
- Ability to work with University officers, faculty and staff in a competent, confidential and professional manner.
- Exceptional organization skills with the ability to plan and organize Chair and Department needs and activities.
- Ability to establish work priorities and provide follow-through to ensure completion of activities.
- Knowledge of, and the ability to become fully competent in computer programs, including Microsoft Suite (Work, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook). Software used will continue to change so adaptability to new electronic programs and tools is essential.
- Ability to understand and apply regulatory requirements at the program level.
- Ability to communicate effectively with administrative personnel, physicians, program personnel, prospective faculty recruits, and other constituents, in written communications and/or oral presentations.
- Strong interpersonal skills are required in order to work with faculty, staff and others in an environment of high intensity and stress.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as:
- Entry Professional: $49,973 - $63,566
- Intermediate Professional: $54,383 - $69,175
- Senior Professional: $58,792 - $74,784
