Cardiologist, Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Internal Medicine, Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program (176219)
Stony Brook University Hospital Heart Institute seeks a Director or Associate Director for its Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program. The position offers a robust ACHD-focused academic clinical cardiology role with integrated inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, development of a regional referral program, and close collaboration with pediatric cardiology, structural heart, CT surgery and advanced imaging. Clinical effort, areas of focus, and academic activities will be tailored to align with individual strengths, subspecialty interests, and long-term career goals.

- Provide specialized and outstanding outpatient ACHD care within Heart Institute practices and lead and transform multidisciplinary partners including pediatric cardiologists, cardiac surgeons and structural teams, maternal-fetal medicine physicians, electrophyisiologists and heart failure specialists.
- Develop ACHD-specific protocols, registries, and QI initiatives.
- Teach an outstanding group of fellows and residents ACHD principles and participate in ACHD-related research and scholarly work.
- For candidates with appropriate training and certification, the role can incorporate protected and integrated time for echocardiography, including TTE/TEE, imaging consultation, quality initiatives, cardiac CT and MRI.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will be an ambitious and kind physician who enjoys seeing patients, teaching and committed to contributing to the growth and long-term goals of the Heart Institute. MD, DO or MD/PhD (or foreign equivalent). Board certified in Internal Medicine, board eligible/board certified in Cardiovascular disease with Formal ACHD training or equivalent substantial ACHD experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Additional training (eg. teaching and administrative responsibilities) or certification (in echocardiography, cardiac CT/MRI, preventive cardiology, sports cardiology, ACHD, or related areas) will be based on the applicant’s desired trajectory.
