As our Career Services and Employer Relations Assistant Director, you will assist undergraduate students individually with their career-related needs and goals while delivering ongoing support through the decision-making process. You will help prepare students for the workforce, graduate school, and pre-professional programs. This may include resume and curriculum vitae development and analyses, interviewing and networking assistance, graduate school application preparation, cover letter and personal statement reviews, and offer negotiation. You will work with an assigned section of students through their post-graduation plans and track their progress.
The Career Services and Employer Relations Assistant Director will offer individual career advising and the tools necessary to assist students and alumni with internship, co-op, research, graduate school, and full-time job searches. Develop collaborative relationships with students, alumni, employers, faculty, staff, parents, and other constituents. Promote Rose-Hulman to Admissions visitors, Athletic recruits, and other campus visitors. Support initiatives that enhance student experiences, foster inclusivity, and strengthen communication, data, and outreach efforts.
You will also track, compile, visualize, and maintain all data and assessments on students, alumni, and employers in preparation for department analytics and data reporting for both internal and external audiences. You will ensure all information in CRM and Handshake is accurate and updated.
Additionally, you will help build career-related curricula and courses for both in-person and online delivery; work with academic departments and faculty to help accomplish career-related goals and outcomes for their students by jointly developing and delivering the career-related curriculum, as well as with campus departments on career-related initiatives. You will help develop and maintain advertising, marketing, website, and social media content, brochures, manuals, catalogs, reports, and any additional printed materials. You will also assist with the execution, development, set-up, and breakdown of all events, workshops, programming, and presentations.
With this position, there is a possibility of international travel.
Qualified candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree in student affairs/higher education, human resources, student/college counseling, leadership development, or related field and two to three years of experience in career development, career counseling, recruiting, human resources, or college admissions is required. Analytical, project/process management, and sales skills are necessary. Experience with Microsoft Office is required. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a strong customer service orientation and polished presentation skills are essential.
In addition to the aforementioned qualifications, preferred candidates will have a master’s degree in student affairs/higher education, human resources, student/college counseling, leadership development, or related field, and five years of experience in career development, career counseling, recruiting, human resources, or college admissions. Experience with database management, Power BI, career services software, graphic design, web tools, and social media is preferred.

Salary range is $48,000 – $66,000. Salary is competitive. A higher salary may be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.
