Summary:
The College of Arts and Sciences Peer Advisors are continuing CAS undergraduates who work primarily with first year, second year, and undecided students. Peer advisors help students pick classes and majors that suit their interests, provide information on academic policies and procedures, and make appropriate referrals to campus resources. CAS Peer Advisors serve as an additional unit of academic support for all CAS undergraduates in the Academic Advising Office.
Essential Functions:
- Help students pick classes and majors.
- Provide information on academic policies and procedures.
- Make appropriate referrals to campus resources.
- Other duties assigned.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- Part-time.
- 10 hours per week.
Salary Range:
- $17.95 per hour.
Required Education and Experience:
- 30 or more credits and at least one full year completed at AU as a CAS student by the start of the Fall 2026 semester.
- AU GPA 3.0 or higher.
- Past leadership/mentoring experience and/or interest in counseling/advising.
- One academic year commitment to the position (if you are studying abroad in the Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 semester you are NOT eligible for this position).
- Sensitive to student confidentiality and able to uphold federal guidelines.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
