About This Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and creative Senior Research Assistant, with experience in educational resource development and a strong understanding of education theory, to support the Sports Stars CONNECT project on a casual basis. Help us create real change to our communities.

In this role you will support the development of Sports Stars CONNECT, an online education resource for allied health professionals supporting children with disability to participate in sport within their local communities. The position requires experience in education activity development, knowledge of education theory, and the ability to translate expert content into engaging, high-quality interactive learning modules.

We anticipate there may be approximately 4-6 hours of work per week through to October 2026. Applicants will need to be able to work flexible hours in response to project demands.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with industry experts and the research team to design engaging, interactive online learning modules using sound instructional design principles.
  • Review, refine, and organise content to ensure quality, clarity, learner engagement, and effective knowledge translation.
  • Maintain documentation of development activities and module content, ensure compliance with ethics protocols, and contribute to project outputs such as reports or manuscripts where relevant.

About You

  • Completion of a relevant degree in education, allied health, sport, rehabilitation, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated experience developing education activities, learning resources, or training materials.
  • Knowledge of education theory and instructional design principles.
  • Experience working in online or digital learning environments, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise, and work independently.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise educational content.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including industry experts.
  • A creative, proactive, and self-driven approach to work.
  • Professional or lived experience in disability and/or sport would be highly regarded as would experience contributing to research outputs or evaluation activities.
