About the opportunity

The Learning Technologist will work as part of a team to provide technical support to academic and professional staff in the design, development, management, and delivery of online and blended courses and units. In this people-focused role, they will provide expert advice about the best practices in the use of technologies for the development of engaging learning content and activities. This is a key role in assisting staff to develop their digital capabilities in learning and teaching.

What you’ll do:

Provide specialist, professional advice and support to academic and professional staff on teaching, learning and assessment with digital technologies.

Manage tasks supporting online learning and teaching in unit contexts, such as the creation and preparation of high quality, UDL informed online learning environments.

Continuously develop and improve knowledge, skills and processed in the use of new and existing learning technologies.

Identify opportunities to refine processes to improve productivity within the Curriculum Design and Innovation team, particularly using generative AI and other emerging technologies.

Deliver high-quality and accurate work, ensuring alignment with institutional standards, and collaborate across academic support teams and academic units.

What we’re looking for:

Completion of relevant degree and subsequent experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education, and/or training.

Experience using learning management systems (in particular, D2L Brightspace) and integrated systems e.g. PebblePad and Echo360.

Skilled in creating high‑quality HTML, media, and interactive content aligned with accessibility, copyright, and UDL standards.

Demonstrated excellence in communicating with academic staff and others who have a range of technical understanding.

Adept in keeping up to date with current learning technologies and producing succinct, accurate guides and training for staff as required.

Proven expertise in integrating Generative Artificial Intelligence tools within educational settings.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $116,872 comprising base salary within the range of $92,120 to $99,891 plus 17% superannuation.
