Required Relevant Education & Experience:
Education: Bachelor's degree (4 years) and 2 years of experience or 2 years of completed post-secondary education and 5 years of experience or comparable combination of 10+ years of experience and broadcast system training or certifications. Experience: Demonstratable experience in the design, implementation, maintenance, compliance, and documentation of modern FM and/or TV broadcast systems. Additionally, experience performing basic IT maintenance tasks relevant to the operation of FM radio and TV stations.
Position Details:
Indiana State University's Office of Information Technology has an immediate opening for a Chief Broadcast Engineer with in-depth knowledge and experience supporting enterprise class radio and TV broadcast systems such as radio and TV production and transmission equipment, and fiber optic infrastructure. This exciting position works with a team of dedicated, customer focused professionals to provide reliable, high performing, and secure broadcast systems for the University. The person in this position designs and develops documentation as well as analyzes systems during the development of computer-based solutions for various departments throughout campus, provides project leadership and technical assistance in the implementation of complex broadcast systems and daily maintenance of such systems. The person must have the ability to effectively diagnose problems and provide quick solutions to technical problems.
Required Qualifications:

Job Summary:
The Chief Broadcast Engineer is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and support of complex FM, TV, and internet broadcast systems utilizing modern technologies and IP-based data transport. This role ensures reliable operation of broadcast infrastructure, provides technical consultation across campus departments, and maintains compliance with industry regulatory standards and IT security requirements. The position also includes mentoring staff and students in broadcast engineering topics, managing documentation, and developing strategic equipment roadmaps to support long-term operational goals.
