Clinical Assistant /Associate/ Professor HS, Oral Diagnostic Sciences
The Department of Oral Diagnostic Sciences at the University at Buffalo is seeking a Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor.
As a faculty member, responsibilities include:
- Providing clinical and didactic instruction at both predoctoral (DDS) and postdoctoral levels, including within the CODA-accredited Orofacial Pain Advanced Educational Program.
- Participating in research activities, delivering patient care at the Orofacial Pain Clinic, and contributing to departmental service.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of pain clinicians to deliver care to patients with chronic orofacial pain and comorbid pain conditions.
- Demonstrating expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and orofacial pain.
- Producing scholarly work in the field of TMD and orofacial pain, including direct supervision of postgraduate student research.
- Engaging in leadership activities related to the Orofacial Pain Clinic and associated services.
- Serving as a leading facilitator in higher education and interprofessional education in orofacial pain.
- Providing supervision and lectures in clinical courses for DDS and postgraduate students.
- Utilizing educational innovations and technology in teaching; strong computer skills are expected.

Minimum Qualifications:
- DDS, DMD or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Orofacial Pain and TMD certificate from an accredited program or if prior to CODA accreditation.
- Certificate from a formal, 2-year advanced education academic program focused on TMD and Orofacial Pain.
- New York State licensure.
- Minimum of one year of experience providing patient care in the field of Orofacial Pain.
- Minimum of one year of experience in academic and/or clinical teaching.
- Part 1 ABOP Board certified.
- Minimum of one-year of experience teaching post graduate students in the field of Orofacial Pain and TMD.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
