Within this setting, The College of Education (http://coe.georgiasouthern.edu/) offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs to prepare students for careers in public education, community agencies, and higher education. The Department of Leadership, Technology, and Human Development (http://coe.georgiasouthern.edu/lthd/), one of four departments within the college, includes four distinct programs: Educational Leadership, Counselor Education, School Psychology, and Instructional Technology. The programs in Educational Leadership provide graduate degrees with specializations in P-12 and higher education leadership at the master's, educational specialist, and doctoral levels. The Ed.D. in Educational Leadership is a member of the Carnegie Project on the Educational Doctorate (CPED), reflecting a commitment to practitioner-focused leadership development.
Job Summary
Reporting to the department chair, the Clinical Assistant Professor requires teaching and service responsibilities, as well as a terminal degree. The position involves collaborating with faculty across the College of Education, collaborating with district level personnel to develop district-university partnerships, and performing service to the department, college, university, and professional community. Additional position responsibilities include helping with program direction and support with curricular initiatives. The position is an academic, non-tenure-track (10-month) appointment.
Required Qualifications
- Earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education Leadership or a closely related field, with at least 18 graduate semester hours in educational leadership, prior to August 1, 2026.
- Minimum five years of administrative leadership experience in the P-12 educational contexts.
- Ability and/or experience leading district-wide initiatives.
- Ability to provide graduate mentorship.
- Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
- Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, curriculum design and development, and program direction.
- Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.

- Experience working with varied student populations.
- Comprehensive awareness and understanding of current issues facing P-12 educational leadership.
- Ability to use and model technology.

Preferred Qualifications
- Ability and/or experience in teaching face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses.
- Ability and/or experience collaborating across stakeholders
- Evidence of engagement with educators and leaders in P-12 schools and support for school/university partnerships.
- Evidence of leadership experience at district or school levels.
- Experience with program reviews, program direction, and accreditation.
- Working knowledge of educational leadership standards, including national and Georgia-based standards.
- Experience coordinating programs through mentorship, leadership in program and curriculum development, and/or program assessment.
- Experience mentoring graduate students including doctoral candidates and dissertations*.
Proposed Salary
Commensurate with experience.
This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
