CLINICAL ASST PROF
The Department of Cardiac Surgery, Section of Adult Cardiac Surgery, is recruiting a full-time cardiac surgeon at the Clinical Assistant level.
The surgeon will have the primary responsibility of performing cardiac surgery operations, attending clinic, clinical teaching, and rounding at Michigan Medicine and the VA Ann Arbor Health System. On-call coverage is required and will be shared with fellow faculty. Teaching of medical students, house officers and fellows is a requirement of this position.
The preferred candidate will have an MD or DO degree and completed an ACGME-accredited cardiothoracic surgery residency and should be proficient in all such aspects of adult cardiac surgery. The candidate must possess exceptional teamwork, program development and mentorship abilities. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is expected. A current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia is required and the ability to obtain a medical license in the state of Michigan.
