Clinical Coordinator, Graduate DNP Program – School of Nursing
POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a highly skilled and diversified position which entails computer, clerical, secretarial, logistics, and planning skills. The Clinical Coordinator assigned primarily to the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program will need to have the capacity to work independently to prioritize among the needs of multiple projects, as well as exercise considerable initiative. This position is responsible for the primary function of all aspects of clinical site coordination for the DNP program. Technical skills in the operation of dominant software packages and the use of Typhon software are required. The primary contacts of the position are the School of Nursing Chair of Advanced Practice, DNP Anesthesia Track Director and Assistant Director, and DNP Program Director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the management and coordination of clinical sites.
- Assist with the establishment, development, and maintenance of a number and variety of clinical sites that are sufficient in quantity, quality, and diversity for all learning experiences.
- Participate in a comprehensive, ongoing systematic data collection process and database management for preparing clinical education reports and site information.
- Report student clinical issues/problems to Program Director.
- Develop and manage a process to collect all clinical evaluation tools.
- Analyze feedback from clinical sites and students to assess the strengths, weaknesses, and needs of clinical education.
- Assist in the management of necessary documents/contracts for student clinical projects
- Maintains current clinical site contracts, affiliation agreements, and other necessary documents.
- Establish and maintain a Clinical Coordination Canvas site for students with up-to-date information and communications.
- Detailed record keeping, maintenance of student and program files, planning and assistance with onsite student activities, assistance with accreditation activities.
- Demonstrate professional behavior in coordinating and organizing clinical site education.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Work requires a Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field from an accredited institution and 3-5 years of experience in a closely related field.
Preferred qualifications:
Prior experience supporting senior management is preferred and highly desirable. Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service orientation;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, community representatives and fellow employees
- Ability to be a self-starter; excellent business skills as well as knowledge of filing procedures and bookkeeping methods
- Knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, Microsoft Office Suite) and the University Banner system
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed in order to attend School events
- Ability and willingness to assist with other tasks as needed; enthusiastically seeks out work and new assignments; shows interest and initiative in taking on new and challenging assignments
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to initiate and follow through with work responsibilities and to meet deadlines
- Sensitivity to the need of each individual to be treated with dignity and respect
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community
