Clinical/Counseling Psychologist for Master’s Level Psychology Program

Company: Gordon College

Job Location: Category: Psychology Type: Full-Time

The Gordon College Psychology program invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track psychologist position, preferably at the associate or full professor level, commensurate with experience. The program is located within the School of Psychology and Human Services and is housed in the Ken Olsen Science Center on Gordon’s campus. We seek someone with a Ph.D. or Psy.D. degree with excellent teaching and mentoring skills who can bring appropriate clinical and research experience to contribute to the School, the College, and the discipline. Position to begin July 15, 2026 or earlier.

The master’s level degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is a new venture inspired by a desire to serve students well. It is designed to meet standards for the LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) accreditation. The program will be staffed by faculty with a Christian faith commitment and asks that graduate students respect but not necessarily adhere to the Christian faith. Classes will be online synchronous and taught from a holistic, values-based, faith-sensitive perspective.

The Psychology program offers outstanding colleagues who are committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service along with motivated students who are eager to engage with their faculty colleagues. This Psychologist role involves collaboration with faculty, students, and external partners as well as the Dean of the School. Teaching includes the expectation that the Psychologist will teach six courses yearly, maintain an active research program, and be engaged in advising students.

The position is a faculty position and may include some teaching of undergraduates as well as graduate students. If undergraduate teaching becomes a part of the role, the position is approved at the tenure-track level.

In addition, we seek someone who has:

  • Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (Ph.D., Psy.D.). Master’s level candidates with an appropriate degree and significant experience may be considered.
  • Licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in Massachusetts is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of post-licensure experience in clinical practice and supervision.
  • Experience in higher education with online teaching is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and external partners.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in clinical training.
  • Must have a Christian faith commitment.
  • Must have an active research agenda in clinical/counseling psychology.

The Gordon College community is committed to pursuing shalom, a right ordering of relationships and actions resulting in the affirmation of human dignity and the flourishing of community. We are interested in candidates who can help us live out this commitment through research and practice.

Interested applicants must submit:

  • Cover letter that addresses the applicant’s interest in this position, which should include fit with the Christian mission of Gordon College, relevant clinical and supervision experience, and teaching and research interests
  • CV that includes the names and contact information for three references
  • Sample of academic or professional writing (10-20 pages)
