Posting Context Statement:

Position Overview: The Postdoctoral Research Associate selected for this position will work as a member of an interdisciplinary team led by Dr. Colin Xu on Department of Defense (DoD)-funded research project involving the use of statistical and machine learning methods for predicting mental health outcomes of anxiety, depression and PTSD. There will be potential opportunities for methodological and/or software development and the integration of machine learning into the project. This position is one of three Postdoctoral Research Associate positions currently available at the University of Idaho in the Institute for Modeling Collaboration and Innovation (IMCI). These postdoctoral researchers will contribute to our modeling community as members of an interdisciplinary team of researchers working in a uniquely collaborative environment. IMCI supports an environment that advances model-based interdisciplinary research. The IMCI Modeling Core is home to a consortium of postdoctoral fellows who provide modeling expertise for a wide range of projects as integral members of those research teams.

Required Experience:

  • Experience with statistical or predictive modeling as demonstrated by publications in the field
  • Evidence of strong written and oral communication skills

Required Education:

  • Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, psychology, psychiatry, computational biology, or related discipline

Required Other: None

Additional Preferred:

  • Experience working in one or more of the following areas: Longitudinal data analysis, Predictive modeling/machine learning models, Biostatistics / epidemiological modeling of public health data
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Pay Range: $63,128 annually or higher depending on experience.
