Clinical Faculty Position in the Department of Nursing
Job Description
Thiel College invites applications for a full-time, nine-month clinical faculty position in the Department of Nursing, beginning Fall 2026. This position carries both teaching and clinical management responsibilities within our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
The successful candidate will be an energetic educator who brings clinical depth, organizational skill, and a genuine commitment to student success. As a clinical faculty member, you will shape how students move from classroom to clinical setting, ensuring those experiences are rigorous, well-organized, and aligned with program outcomes, CCNE accreditation standards, and Pennsylvania Board of Nursing requirements.
Thiel College provides licensure fee reimbursement and professional development funding. Summer teaching and clinical supervision carry additional compensation.
Responsibilities
Teaching & Curriculum
- Teach 24 credits annually at the undergraduate level, in face-to-face, hybrid, or online formats. (Release time as appropriate for administrative duties.)
- Contribute to curriculum development and ensure alignment with student learning outcomes
- Monitor student progress and support remediation as needed
- Apply evidence-based teaching strategies across didactic, lab, and simulation settings
Clinical, Laboratory, & Simulation Involvement
- Provide clinical supervision at affiliated hospital and community sites
- Participate in laboratory and simulation instruction and oversight
- Support coordination of clinical experiences to ensure alignment with course objectives and regulatory standards
Departmental Contribution
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, committees, and shared governance
- Contribute to CCNE accreditation activities and program evaluation
- Support student recruitment and retention efforts
- Engage in ongoing professional development and scholarly activity
Student Advising & Support
- Serve as an academic advisor to BSN students, supporting their progress from admission through graduation
- Monitor student academic performance and contribute to early intervention and remediation efforts
- Guide students through clinical preparation requirements and professional development milestones
Accreditation & Program Quality
- Support CCNE accreditation activities, program evaluation, and data collection
- Ensure ongoing compliance with state board of nursing requirements
- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and program development efforts
- Support adjunct faculty onboarding and coordination
Qualifications
Required:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program
- Current, unencumbered RN license in Pennsylvania (or eligibility for licensure)
- Demonstrated clinical nursing experience, including med/surg
- Experience in higher education teaching or clinical supervision
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Preferred:
- Doctoral degree in Nursing (PhD or DNP)
- Leadership experience in clinical programs
- Psych, pediatric, or other specialty nursing experience
- Familiarity with BSN-level clinical education assessment
