Position Overview
Purdue University Global seeks full-time nursing faculty to teach, support, and advance its School of Nursing. The role includes responsibilities in teaching, service, scholarship, and professional development, with teaching being the primary focus. Faculty contribute to student success through instruction, mentoring, and curriculum development, and support university initiatives to improve retention and learning outcomes.
Responsibilities
Teaching:
- Deliver undergraduate and graduate nursing courses (on-site and/or online)
- Create student-centered learning environments to promote success
- Maintain timely communication, grading, and accessibility standards
- Assist with professional development of students
Service:
- Participate in department and university governance, committees, and leadership roles
- Support colleagues through mentorship, course leadership, or training initiatives
Scholarship:
- Optional research and publication activities, e.g., professional or academic presentations
Professional Development:
- Minimum 8 hours annually of professional growth activities
- Stay current with instructional strategies, technology, and trends
Additional Duties:
- Report student academic or behavioral concerns to appropriate university offices
- Participate in continuous improvement, faculty meetings, and program assessment
- Support university retention and outreach initiatives
Qualifications
Required:
- BSN minimum; MSN preferred
- 2–5 years of nursing experience
- Minimum 2 years of teaching/training experience (online teaching a plus)
- Active, unencumbered RN or APRN license
Preferred:
- Experience with Brightspace LMS
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Valid driver’s license in Iowa or surrounding states
Compensation and Benefits
- Target salary: $80,000
- Exempt (Not Eligible for Overtime)
- Comprehensive benefits package consistent with Purdue Global employment
