Full Time 12-month Fixed term opportunity for a dedicated and organised clinical research assistant

supporting high quality research that improves outcomes for children, young people, and adults

Base Salary $89,755 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The University of Sydney is seeking a motivated and detail oriented Clinical Research Assistant to join our multidisciplinary research team supporting child and adult neurodevelopment, mental health, and health services research. This is an exciting opportunity to work across both clinical and university research settings, collaborating directly with clinicians, researchers, families, and patients. In this role, you will contribute to the development of research protocols, coordinate grant applications, manage data collection and analysis, and ensure the smooth flow of research documentation across multiple funded digital health and evaluation projects. You will play an important part in supporting high quality research that improves outcomes for children, young people, and adults.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• contribute to the design and development of research protocols and support timely project execution
• coordinate and submit grant applications, ensuring compliance with all requirements
• provide guidance on research regulations, policies, and procedures
• support data collection, management, and analysis, ensuring data quality and accuracy
• collaborate closely with researchers, clinicians, and partner organisations to share progress and findings
• assist with managing research documentation, including drafting and preparing materials for publication and reporting
• maintain strong communication with stakeholders and support continuous improvement in research processes
• undertake day to day administrative duties such as purchasing, invoice processing, and compliance activities
• prioritise health and safety and support the team in safety practices and initiatives.

About you

We are looking for a Clinical Research Assistant who has:

• tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, or equivalent training and experience
• experience working in research or higher education settings
• strong organisational and time management skills
• experience with research administration, data analysis, or research software
• excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clinicians, families, patients, and research teams
• attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a dynamic research environment
• an interest in digital health and neurodevelopmental or mental health research.

Work Rights

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
