Clinician Educator, Dermatology, East Bay & Emeryville
The Department of Dermatology at Stanford University School of Medicine seeks a board-certified/board-eligible dermatologist with expertise and interest in supportive dermato-oncology and general dermatology to join the faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor in the Clinician Educator line (rank commensurate with experience). We are interested in candidates with experience, or demonstrated commitment to developing expertise, in an academic dermatology setting. We strongly encourage candidates who are East Bay-based or have a genuine commitment to becoming integral members of the East Bay community, as local engagement and understanding of our diverse patient population are essential to our mission.
The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Academic rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide supportive dermato-oncology care at the Stanford Medicine Sutter Health Cancer Center in Oakland (approx. 50% effort).
- Provide general medical dermatology care at the Emeryville clinic (approx. 50% effort).
- Maintain close coordination with subspecialty teams for complex cases.
Academic and Teaching Expectations
- Actively participate in clinical teaching and mentorship.
- Contribute to periodic didactic lectures, Grand Rounds, and departmental educational initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- MD or equivalent degree
- Board certification or eligibility in Dermatology
- Must obtain California medical licensure prior to start date
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical care
- Strong commitment to medical education
