Job Summary
Florida Gulf Coast University is a comprehensive university dedicated to quality education, research, and service. Assignments will include teaching, at both undergraduate and/or graduate levels, as applicable. Teaching assignments may be on the main campus or at off-campus sites within our region.
Adjunct instructors instruct students, participate in appropriate curricular and co-curricular assignments and functions, and perform the necessary administrative obligations.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Plans and teaches in assigned course.
- Prepares syllabi and instruction materials, coordinates lectures and tests, evaluates and complies with relevant grading standards and policies.
- Maintains highest possible standards of classroom instruction.
- Keeps abreast of new information and developments in the field of instruction.
- Knows how to use Canvas and other university technology.
- Maintains professional skills through regular professional development, and other activities appropriate to higher education faculty.
- Assists with the development of curriculum as required or necessary.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in related field and eighteen (18+) credit hours from a regionally accredited institution or terminal degree in related field with relevant doctoral-level credit hours from a regionally accredited institution.
