- Remuneration: $111,341 to $120,557 pa (HEW6) (inclusive of $94,084 to $101,872 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Commercial Services Officer to join Campus Services, Administrative Division.
The Commercial Services Officer provides operational and administrative support to ensure the effective delivery of the University’s commercial services. The role assists in managing service delivery contracts, monitoring performance, and coordinating activities to ensure high-quality services are provided to students, staff, and visitors. The position focuses on supporting day-to-day operations, maintaining compliance with contractual requirements, and contributing to initiatives that drive service improvement and customer satisfaction.

The department comprises the following areas: • Campus Planning • Property • Commercial Services • Security and Emergency Management • Travel Campus Services is reimagining its Commercial Services function to become a more strategic and revenue-generating contributor to QUT’s long-term financial sustainability. Many existing services operate in fragmented or legacy models, limiting their commercial potential—this transformation will unify and scale service delivery while using data to drive performance. External partnerships will be sharpened through a commercial lens to ensure offerings are financially viable, market-aligned, and customer-focused. Through this shift, Campus Services will embed a culture of commercial excellence that delivers improved outcomes and generates income to help fund the university’s core mission and future growth..
What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to a degree with subsequent relevant experience in administration or operational delivery within a margin-driven commercial setting.
- Demonstrated experience providing effective support for commercial operations, projects, or contracts, including administration, budgeting, and management of commercial agreements to achieve operational and financial objectives.
- Developed organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, apply logical judgement and sound reasoning, prioritise effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
- Developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the preparation of clear and accurate documents, correspondence, and reports, as well as the ability to confidently engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a cohesive team environment, demonstrating initiative, accountability, and a strong commitment to achieving high-quality outcomes and best practice standards.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality client service, with the ability to establish, maintain, and enhance relationships with a diverse range of internal and external clients to deliver value-adding outcomes.
- Proven financial administration or transactional experience, including accurate data entry, reconciliation, and effective budget tracking within a commercial or corporate context.
- Demonstrated digital and technical capability, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word and Outlook), SharePoint, and data analysis tools such as Power BI, as well as emerging technologies (e.g. AI-assisted tools).
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and Indigenous Australian engagement.
