Finance Specialist
Solve by Talent is partnering with the University of Sydney to recruit a Finance Specialist within Information and Communications Technology. This role will support effective financial control, cost management and reporting across ICT projects and portfolio delivery.

The opportunity
This is a key Delivery Office role focused on the financial management of ICT projects, from validating estimates and rate cards through to budget forecasting, cost tracking and executive-level reporting. You'll work closely with project managers and ICT leaders to ensure financial information is accurate, current and decision-ready across a large and complex portfolio.
What you'll do
- Develop, review and monitor ICT project budgets, ensuring estimates reflect current rate cards, scope and delivery requirements.
- Track project costs, forecasts and variances through PPM tools, supporting accurate reporting and financial control
- Prepare portfolio-level financial reporting and insights for senior ICT leaders, including project control board reporting.
- Partner with project managers to improve cost discipline, budget accuracy and financial decision-making.
- Identify financial risks, cost pressures and process improvement opportunities across the ICT project portfolio
What we're looking for
- Experience in financial management, project accounting, portfolio/program/project management or a related field.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and cost control in a large-scale environment.
- Experience using PPM tools for cost planning, forecasting and project financial reporting.
- Advanced analytical skills and strong attention to detail when working with complex data.
- Clear communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
