Duties & Responsibilities

Effective Project Leadership:

  • Demonstrates effective project leadership by defining, developing and meeting project requirements, goals, budget and schedule for design and construction deliverables for construction projects.
  • Coordinates, directs and monitors project budget and schedules while tracking scope/quality.
  • Manages project efforts in alignment with ABOR/UFS-PDC policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Assumes responsibility for assigned projects or project tasks. Leads project activities, maintaining standards through effective coordination. Supports and facilitates resolution to project challenges, issues and conflicts.

Facilitates Project Coordination and Communication:

  • Supports project representation and provides opportunities to facilitate input from project delivery team and other stakeholders. Incorporates input into project activities to support successful outcomes.
  • Coordinates and communicates project-related issues and responses.
  • Reports current status and communicates upcoming milestones to stakeholders and supervisors.
  • Coordinates scheduling and work activities to minimize disruption of campus operations when possible.

Provide Project Review and Management:

  • Reviews project design documentation and supports management of the construction phase to ensure project requirements and that the quality and service of the design align with University design standards, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Supports quality and success of design and construction through coordination of design and/or construction teams; review of construction documents; observation of work; and monitoring of the warranty phase.
  • Assists with negotiation of contracts, agreements, and related documents. Provides timely and accurate coordination of documents and processes.

Construction Administration:

  • Monitors progress of construction and tracks project budget and expenditures while assisting with forecasting projected costs through project closeout and warranty period.
  • Reviews and processes design and vendor invoices, GC pay applications, change orders, contractor contingency use and related ASI/RFI scope and costs.
  • Coordinates with contractors and vendors on owner-furnished and owner-installed furniture and equipment such as structured cabling, AV systems, furniture, and miscellaneous equipment procured directly by owner.

  • May serve as department representative on ad hoc committees.

  • Self-motivated and able to work diligently to complete tasks with minimal direct supervision.
  • Proven ability to work as a cooperative team player and communicate effectively with various groups.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Organized and able to keep accurate records.
  • Strong skills in database with the ability to learn new software.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based construction management software such as ProCore.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the design and construction industry.
  • Knowledgeable administrating multiple project types and delivery methods (JOC, CMAR, & D-B) ranging from $100,000 to $300M.
  • Experience working at university, educational, or process-oriented environment.
