  • Remuneration: $109,157 to $118,193 pa (HEW6) (inclusive of $92,239 to $99,875 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
  • Location: Kelvin Grove (hybrid option available)
  • Open to: Current staff members of QUT who have ongoing full-time work rights in Australia. In support of our strategic priority of Indigenous Australian success, Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islander people who are not QUT staff are also eligible and encouraged to apply.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Content and Events Officer to join Marketing and Student Recruitment, Engagement, Chancellery Division.

The Content and Events Officer contributes to the student recruitment program through communications, events and engagement activities. This includes writing content for electronic direct mails (EDMs), web and publications, coordinating photo shoots and testimonials, working on key tasks associated with the delivery of prospective student events, and contributing to the team by working at events, answering prospective student enquiries and conducting presentations.

The Marketing and Student Recruitment Department is responsible for:

  • Ensuring communications from QUT are effective and of high professional standard. 

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training and/or experience equivalent to the completion of a degree in communication or a relevant discipline with subsequent relevant experience. 
  2. Demonstrated strong communication skills including the ability to write high quality, engaging print and online content for a range of audiences to achieve organisational goals, combined with strong attention to detail in proofing copy, documents and datasets.
  3. Demonstrated interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate, consult and communicate effectively with colleagues, your team, internal and external clients, and suppliers, and the ability to deliver engaging group presentations.
  4. Demonstrated time management skills including the ability to prioritise tasks, problem solve, meet deadlines, and provide a professional service within a busy customer-oriented environment.
  5. High level digital literacy skills including use of the Microsoft Office suite, Photoshop, and website management.
  6. Knowledge of workplace health and safety, and equity and diversity principles, especially relating to events and content, to ensure implementation of these principles as an employee in day-to-day tasks.
  7. Current ‘C’ class (car) driver’s license, the physical ability to carry boxes of approximately 10kg weight and the availability to attend out of hours activities.
