Join University of Canberra where we walk together to foster an inclusive community. Together, we endeavour to empower, connect, and exchange knowledge with our diverse people, cultures, and environments.

We stand firm and dedicated to upholding fundamental values such as inclusivity, honouring Indigenous cultures (Narragunnawali), driving positive change, nurturing curiosity, and promoting collaborative efforts. We are committed to leading the national education sector in championing equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility via Connected – A Decadal Strategy 2023-2032. UC encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

About the opportunity:

Are you passionate about equity in education and skilled in program evaluation and financial oversight? Join our Student Life team at the University of Canberra in a dynamic role that supports meaningful change across the student experience.

About the Role

This can be a hybrid approach that can be offered as 17.5 hours (p/t) if your preference leans toward one focus area, or as a full-time role if you're able to manage both. It’s a program-focused role requiring oversight of budgets and funding, so a solid understanding of financial management, program management and evaluation processes is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate initiatives funded by the Higher Education Continuity Grant – Equity Funds (HECG), supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds
  • Work within an existing framework to report on funding outcomes and identify risks if project direction shifts
  • Support and assess student access, transition, participation, and retention programs using evidence-based approaches
  • Apply the Student Equity in Higher Education Evaluation Framework (SEHEEF) to measure program effectiveness across the student lifecycle

About You You’re a strategic thinker with a strong grasp of evaluation frameworks, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement. You bring a collaborative mindset and a commitment to improving outcomes for students from underrepresented backgrounds.

Offerings/ Benefits/ Culture:

The University offers excellent conditions and benefits such as:

  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Family-friendly policies
  • On campus Gym, Medical services, Cafes, Post office, Supermarket and Childcare facilities.
  • Professional Development offerings (study assistance, corporate programs and discounts)
  • Innovative work environment with a diverse and inclusive culture
  • Access to Employee Assistance Program and a corporate private Health Plan (Bupa)
