Coordinator for Fraternities and Sororities
Position Information
The Coordinator for Fraternities and Sororities is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the university's social fraternities and sororities; including assistance with University recognition, recruitment, program and event planning, major event management, risk management, accessing University resources, understanding and negotiating University policies and procedures, organizational development and enhancement, fundraising, promotion, marketing, and communication. The Coordinator will also take on large-scale programs/projects within the Student Organization Team. The Coordinator will also assist at various departmental functions and events. This position will support the Student Life office's mission, vision, and strategic plan.
The salary range for the Coordinator for Fraternities and Sororities is $54,200 - $93,200 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is up to $62,000 annually. We base placement within these ranges on the individual's qualifications as they relate to this position.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
As a university employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.
Education Requirements
- Degree Requirement: Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required
- Master's degree. Preferred
Experience
- 4 - 7 years of related experience. Required
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience with fraternities and sororities in a university setting or National office. Required
Minimum Requirements
- Special Condition Requirement: Occasional travel for university related business meetings, conferences and/or professional development. Required
- Shift Work (hours outside standard Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM work hours). Required
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
- Thorough knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
- Abilities in project management, problem identification and reasoning skills.
- Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance.
- Thorough knowledge of Student Affairs/Student Life specialization.
Additional Information
Strong knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
