General Description
This position is responsible for assisting with new student programs, service-learning, and educational workshops; for promoting student success both in and out of the classroom; and for assigning of planning and coordinating events within the Office of Student Life.

Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree
Minimum (1) years' work experience in higher education planning and coordinating campus student related events.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
The work is light work which requires the person in this position to occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
This position requires the person to frequently move about the Office of Student Life, OCCC campus, and other locations to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to students, faculty, staff, administration, and others to perform the essential functions of the position.
Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.
This position requires the person to frequently operate a computer, other office machinery, and mobile devices to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.
This position requires the person to frequently position self to work with students, to complete activities, and/or to move, push, pull, grasp materials or operate equipment.
This position requires the person to frequently position self to access materials that may be above head or at ground level.
This position requires the person to frequently use upper and lower body to exert force up to 50 pounds to push or pull materials or equipment.
This position requires the person to judge, observe, and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned, to make general observations, and/or operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
Work is performed both in indoor and outdoor settings.
Work is performed during the work week including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
(2) years' full-time professional work experience in student affairs at an institution of higher education.
Required Training
Quarterly compliance training as assigned by institution
Annual CSA training is required for individuals holding this position.
Work Hours: Monday through Friday; 8:00am to 5:00pm, with some evenings & weekends during peak periods. 7:30am to 6:00pm Monday through Thursday for summer schedule usually late May through early August.

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement)
- Support student leaders and club advisors on program planning and logistics, including space reservations, contracts, risk management and liability, budget and marketing, or formation of new student organizations.
- Serve as Co-advisor to Student Government Association.
- Plans, facilitates, evaluates, and enhances a broad range of social and civic events for students.
- Participates in the planning, facilitation, evaluation, and enhancement of the College's comprehensive curricular and co-curricular service-learning programs.
- Assists in the development and implementation of assessment and evaluation tools to ensure student input in all areas of the Office of Student Life operations.
- Coordinates leadership, development, service-learning, and other programs and services for clubs and organizations through the Office of Student Life.
- Works with student organizations, faculty, staff, and community members as appropriate.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Life or OCCC Administration.
This position has been identified as having significant responsibility for student and campus activities; is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA); and is required to report crimes they become aware of to the Reporting Structure at Oklahoma City Community.
Job Duties (Safety / Policy & Procedures)
- Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures.
- Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
- Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
- Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC's established safety and health procedures and practices.
- Participate in all applicable OCCC emergencies, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
