Compensation Details: Starting Pay - $70,400

Work Hours: Standard work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with one regularly scheduled late shift from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required to meet operational needs.

Remote Eligible: This position is not eligible for remote work

Special Instructions to Applicant: This is an in-person position located in downtown Fort Worth at the Trinity River Campus building.

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for leading campus programming and activities to support student success. This position is also responsible for the fulfillment of our five tenets of learning and success through programming focused on: academic support and scholarship, social and emotional support, career competency development, leadership skill development, and personal growth.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Performance Requirements

  • Leads the planning, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of programs to support student success such as mentor programming, celebrations for students from first generation, low income, and other underserved student populations, and leadership development and training for student participants
  • Collaborates with faculty and departments, such as Learning Commons, Career Services, and Graphics, to market and provide interdisciplinary support through promising and proven practices in student support and success
  • Participates in College activities that foster community engagement and partnerships in support of students from first generation, low income, and other underserved student populations using a collective impact strategy to support students' sense of belonging and learning
  • Tracks and assesses student engagement and outcomes of student support efforts by collecting data, creating reports, designing presentations, and other activities for college leadership to analyze student progress and success
  • Coordinates related programming and supports
  • Collaborates with other coordinators across the district to support the One-College approach to student engagement and academic success
  • Performs complex administrative and technical functions for the unit
  • Oversees daily operations of the identified office and meeting space(s)
  • Makes technical decisions by applying policies, regulations, and protocol
  • Assists in developing unit goals and direction
  • Acts as a team lead within the department and facilitates work of administrative staff and student employee(s)

Service Excellence

  • Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College

Supervision

  • Works under the general supervision of the assigned department leadership

Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years' working experience in a college or university setting related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in college student personnel, higher education, counseling, educational psychology, sociology, or a related discipline
  • At least one (1) year's working experience in advising and leading intervention strategies for students from first generation, low income, and other underserved student populations
  • At least one (1) year's working experience developing programs and planning events
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish written and verbal communication
  • At least one (1) year's experience teaching or working in an established online learning environment, excluding temporary COVID-19 remote instruction

  • Knowledge of effective strategies to promote student success
  • Knowledge of best practices related to sense of belonging, competence, and student development
  • Knowledge of the open-door admission policy and philosophy of the comprehensive community college
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships
  • Skilled in interpersonal, verbal, and written communication with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
  • Ability to use computer applications and enterprise systems, including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
  • Ability to set priorities and organize tasks, documents, reports, and materials effectively
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, use good judgment, discretion, and have awareness of and sensitivity to the interests and concerns of students to engage, retain, and develop them
  • Ability to analyze data, create reports, and present findings to provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
  • Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
