By applying contemporary research tools to clinically relevant areas of investigation, the participants develop a foundation for careers in academic medicine, industry, and regulatory affairs. Hands-on instruction in the operating room on basic and complex operative techniques for the musculoskeletal system, about a wide selection of implant systems (trauma long bone, spine, TJR, joint resurfacing, CMF, biofilm infection, regenerative musculoskeletal therapies), and the development and use of emerging technologies is a major component of this program. Model species comprise rats, rabbits, sheep, goats, pigs, and horses.
