Job Description Summary
The Veterinary Technology Faculty Veterinarian provides veterinary care while delivering high-quality instruction, mentorship, and academic support to a student population in the Veterinary Technology Program. This position combines clinical practice with classroom, laboratory, and clinical teaching responsibilities, ensuring compliance with program accreditation standards and course learning outcomes. This position starts in August 2026.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties
- Provides veterinary care to primarily small animals.
- Prepare and teach courses in the Veterinary Technology Department to a multicultural student population based on the program's approved course learning outcomes and accreditation standards.
- Participate actively in departmental responsibilities and departmental governance.
- Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback.
- Serve as a mentor and faculty advisor to students.
- Remain current in the field through professional development activities.
- Participate in evening and weekend on-call duties.
Required Education
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with current Texas licensure.
Required Work Experience
Three years of relevant non-teaching work experience as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
