Job Summary:

Jobs in this career family develop, maintain, and support computer systems, software and networks. Functions include enterprise operations, distributed computing, academic computing, research computing, computer hardware and software management, computer networking, telecommunications, systems development, database administration, server administration, website management, programming, desktop support, and help desk operations.

Professionals at the intermediate level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.

At the intermediate level, duties may be more limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Maintenance and Weekly Updates (20%)

  • Performs weekly updates to dashboards and reports by incorporating new student assessment and evaluation data to ensure accuracy and currency.

Dashboard and Report Development (25%)

  • Designs, builds, and implements new dashboards and reports, including developing prototypes, as new data sources become available or reporting needs change.

Dashboard Enhancements and Improvements (15%)

  • Designs and implements monthly updates and enhancements to existing dashboards as requested by the Data & Analytics Manager.

Data Aggregation and Analysis (15%)

  • Aggregates and analyzes multiple data sets to identify trends, generate actionable insights, and support data-driven decision-making.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Requirements Gathering (10%)

  • Collaborates with end-users and subject matter experts to determine reporting needs, data requirements, data sources, security considerations, and desired output formats.

Data Visualization and Security Management (10%)

  • Designs data visualizations to support multiple phases of the curriculum and other OME units; implements and maintains row-level security in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server, including management of security tables for student and faculty/staff access.

Documentation and User Support (5%)

  • Maintains the Dashfolio user guide, instructional materials, and Dashfolio-specific documentation related to data flows, update procedures, and system maintenance.

Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management/computer information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
  • One year of experience delivering end-user training and documentation for non-technical audiences, including data cleaning, validation, and quality assurance.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship. We are unable to provide work visa sponsorship or employment authorization for this position now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education.
  • Experience building and deploying business intelligence and building dashboards, reports, and visualizations (Tableau or PowerBI).
  • Experience working with Microsoft development projects and platforms (Microsoft Servers, SQL Server SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and Power Automate
  • 2 years' experience developing SQL queries utilizing slowly changing dimensions (Type II) to represent historical data.
  • Experience writing executive summaries and leveraging data to convey opportunities.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of IT best practices, policies, and regulations
  • Knowledge of software, computer science, and IT security
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously while effectively managing time and prioritizing tasks.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible solutions for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead workshops and training sessions.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills across diverse teams and disciplines.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Term Limited: One Year Contract, with option to renew based on business need.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $64,202-$86,031

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
