Cultivate and maintain university, district, community, and state partnerships through collaborative leadership and engagement with the ultimate goal of improving the lives of members of impacted communities.

Develop innovative, creative, and efficient methods to work with faculty and staff to respond positively and effectively to regional, state, federal regulations and accreditation requirements.

Provide administrative leadership through advocacy for college, departmental, and programmatic resources to ensure the College of Liberal Arts operates effectively in providing quality educational programs across its various academic units.

Attract and retain students in the College of Liberal Arts through positive recruitment endeavors and by strengthening the educational experiences of all students.

Ensure the long-term financial viability of the College of Liberal Arts and its programs, including strengthening existing and diversified revenue streams, strategically leveraging the College's relationship with public and private partnerships, and capitalizing on fundraising success. Maintain an environment where graduates can be prepared to successfully compete in an increasingly diverse work environment.

Minimum Experience Required
Proven record of relevant leadership experience and accomplishments at the Dean, Assistant/Associate Dean, or Department Head level with advancing degrees of responsibility related to curriculum, accreditation, budgeting, hiring, evaluating personnel, and other pertinent activities.
Minimum Education Required
Terminal Degree in a field relative to the disciplines within the College of Liberal Arts.
Minimum Licenses Required
If field of practice requires licensure, the successful candidate must hold, or be eligible to obtain, appropriate licensure for their discipline in the state of Louisiana.
Other Minimum Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with the student body, student organizations, faculty, department heads, staff, deans from other colleges, the Provost, the President, and other administrators at all levels.
- Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and success with accrediting and essential regulatory bodies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of program development and curriculum building.
- A record of academic accomplishment qualifying for the rank of at a minimum tenured associate professor under the promotion and tenure policies at Nicholls State University.
Preferred Education
Terminal Degree in a field relative to the disciplines within the College of Liberal Arts.
Preferred Experience
- Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining excellence in academic programming and research, including experience with accrediting agencies, innovation in instructional methods, strategic planning, and shared governance.
- Expertise in managing personnel and conflict.
- Experience with managing complex budgets and resources; experience in fundraising with a vision toward innovative opportunities that benefit the College.
- Ability to respectfully and effectively communicate with faculty, staff, students, other members of the administrative team, and outside constituents to clearly articulate the mission, vision, needs, and accomplishments of the College.
- Respect and appreciation for the diverse disciplines represented in the College.

- Academic accomplishment: distinguished academic accomplishments qualifying the Dean for the rank of tenured professor.

- Networking and team-building skill: the ability to work internally and externally to develop relationships and partnerships with other academic institutions, artistic facilities, and businesses to advance the teaching, research/creative expression, and service needs of the College.
