Dean
Contribute to achieving the University’s strategic and faculty operational plans by providing effective management and academic leadership within the department.
Dean is accountable to the DVC Academic Affairs for matters relating to the management of Faculty staff, the organisation of teaching, research and associated activities and the effective performance of staff duties.
Dean is required to be in regular communication with Faculty staff and responsive to staff and the interests of the wider University community.
Dean will demonstrate vision, strong management skills, an ability to acquire resources and the skills to empower and influence others to contribute to getting the job done. The methods by which the Dean carries out the duties and the extent of delegation will depend on factors such as the size and nature of the Faculty.
Academic leadership is often shared, particularly through the support of the faculty’s academic staff. The Dean is ultimately accountable for the management of the faculty.

- HSE requirements in all activities, lead by example, support the University’s HSE improvement initiatives and be fully aware of potential HSE risks and required controls.
Be fully informed of the:
- Latest in communication technology.
- Diversity levels and importance of the University’s stakeholders.
