TYPICAL ACTIVITIES

Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population, and to working effectively with students, staff, and colleagues in the Department. Faculty in the MPA program teach remotely, using both Canvas and Zoom. Around 75% of our courses are taught synchronously, from 7:00 PM to 9:45 PM, Monday through Thursday using the Zoom platform. The other 25% are taught asynchronously. Faculty who wish to teach in the async mode must engage with the University's online course development staff to build a high-quality course shell before courses are offered. While not expected, many of our current part-time faculty attend department meetings and events, graduation, and serve as mentors to our students.
