The Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation and Counseling within the College of Education is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers as needed. Possible appointments include University Supervisor/Clinical Supervisor and providing instructions to courses in the master's degree programs or teaching and pupil personnel services (PPS) credential programs. Applications are welcomed from candidates with one or more of the following specialties: Counseling and Guidance, School Psychology, Special Education, and Rehabilitation Counseling. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications, experience and time base.

JOB SUMMARY

Successful candidates will be able to complete one or more of the following tasks: 1) provide high-quality supervision and mentoring to student teachers, intern teachers, and students in their field experience in special education, counseling, school psychology, or rehabilitation counseling; 2) teach courses in special education, counseling, school psychology, or rehabilitation counseling. They will also participate in program events, training, meetings, attend new student teacher orientation and instructor/university supervisor professional development. The supervisors will further establish and maintain positive relationships among the resident teachers, credential programs and the Teacher Education and Foundations Department. Course instructors will be responsible for planning and delivering instruction for their courses, grading, and providing input on student progress to the program coordinator and department chair.

Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty, staff and students across a wide range of disciplines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have successful teaching experience and a master's degree or higher in Counseling, School Psychology, Special Education and Rehabilitation Counseling or closely related disciplines.

University Supervisor/Clinical Supervisor applicants must hold the applicable California credential (i.e., Education Specialist in Mild/Moderate, Moderate/Severe, or Early Childhood; PPS in Counseling or School Psychology) or licensure (i.e., LPCC or CRC).

For the Counseling and Guidance Program, minimum requirements are a master's degree in counseling or closely related field (doctoral degree preferred) and licensure in LPCC, MFT, MSW and/or PPS credential with expertise in counseling and advanced counseling skills.

All applicants should possess excellent written and oral communication skills and a commitment to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion.

Evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation is valued. Evidence of exemplary graduate-level teaching and leadership experience at program level is preferred and should be noted in application.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with CSUSB.
